What Is True Fasting?

What Is True Fasting? (With You)
Many fast and pretend to be humble. They bow their heads and want to appear modest. But according to God’s Word, all this is for show; all this is done so God can see and be impressed! These people honour God not from their hearts but by doing outward deeds. And worst of all, their normal, everyday behavior remains the same. They persist in their sinful habits.

The Invitation of Jesus Christ: Repent

The Invitation of Jesus Christ: Repent (With You)
To become a follower of Jesus Christ, the first step is to repent. To repent is not only to be sorry for our sins but also to turn away from them. True repentance from a sin means not to commit that sin again. Otherwise, our repentance is not real. By repenting, we begin a new life in Christ. Sin has separated us from God the Father, who is our creator. Jesus came into the world to save sinners and give eternal life to all who believe in him.

How Can I Become a Follower of Christ?

How Can I Become a Follower of Christ? (With You)
In order to follow Jesus Christ, we only have to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, accept His death as the payment for all our sins, and trust Him completely and only as our Savior. Becoming a Christian is not about religious rites, going to church, or doing or not doing certain things. To become a Christian is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through faith that makes one a Christian.

Should We Fast for People or for God?

Should We Fast for People or for God? (With You)
The purpose of fasting is to draw closer to God and to solve problems that cannot be solved by prayer alone. Fasting helps us to turn from our natural human selfishness and become more selfless. It also helps us appreciate more the greatest sacrifice of all—that of Jesus Christ, and how it brought reconciliation between God and mankind. Fasting humbles our hearts. We become sensitive to the voice and guidance and presence of God. Our rebellious souls are humbled and our prayers and worship become more effective.
